UBUNTU
Ubuntu - The Indigenous philosophy of Ubuntu derives from South Africa. The word Ubuntu means “the quality of being human.” Ubuntu manifests itself through various human acts, clearly visible in social, political, and economic situations, as well as among community/family. It is embodied in the often repeated saying: “umuntu ngumuntu ngabanye abantu” (“A person is a person through other people”). Ubuntu can be seen and felt in the spirit of willing participation, cooperation, co-creation, warmth, community development, and personal dignity. Ubuntu creates a container of purpose in one's life in relation to community, the earth and everything living.

Our theory of Change
Using the Ubuntu methodology which includes harm reduction, transformative justice, healing justice, Intersectional feminism, decolonisation and anti-oppression processes, we envision :
We want to use our collective experience to meet systemic oppression and the climate crisis with systemic change.
In addition to support provided directly to grassroots organisations, UBUNTU CO-CREATE is partnering with coalition groups and other key actors in the community so that we can work together to foster environmental and social justice practices. Through projects, events and learning exchanges, we hope to grow our communities.
- Strengthening diversity and human rights within social movements, communities, public sectors and private organisations by stewarding dialogue and learning in partnership with other coalitions and training groups.
- Supporting people in building sustainable and regenerative communities, to advance environmental transformation in response to the planetary crises of our time.
- Building the skills, knowledge, and diversity required to meet the needs of the on-the-ground organisations and marginalised communities facing the biggest challenges.
- Creating a space of networking, build bridges of reconciliation and collaborations between communities of Europe, Africa and beyond through social projects and exchange of knowledge.
- Supporting private organisations on their social and environmental responsibilities.

- Generate anti-oppression education and to advocate for regulatory proposals.
- To fight against institutional oppressions especially in schools and public sectors e.g. hospitals, social offices as well as in the media.
- To promote active-solidarity in our communities and between our members.
- To disseminate alternative anti-oppression proposals and practices ( normative, educational, relational)
- To generate spaces for empowerment and development of diverse identities free of violence and discrimination for the members of the association.
- To advocate for environmental justice through education for local and international communities, including indigenous knowledge, permaculture practices, biodynamic farming, agroecology and eco projects.
- Using arts and culture as a form of creating collaborations and dialogs for diverse communities.
- Creating spaces and projects focused on Eastern and Western European political and socio-economical dynamics.
- Supporting and developing social entrepreneurship for youth and women from marginalised communities through education, partnering and funding possibilities.
- Developing camps and educational spaces for marginalised youth and teenagers to find safety and community from everyday pressures and bullying. And to support healing process from negative impacts caused by everyday experiences of racism, micro-aggressions and internalised oppression.
- To be an ally for marginalised communities, to advocate and support them in their human rights.
