UBUNTU DE-COLONIANL JOURNEY

Hello fellow co-travellers,
In this 5-week Ubuntu-based de-colonial journey, we explore the impact of colonisation on our bodies, minds, family systems, communities, and worldview. In a world entangled in poly-crises, we will examine the assumptions, investments, and desires that sustain these challenges. We bring together theory and practice, rooted in Ubuntu, and inspired from decolonial futures, deep adaptation, and inner process work.

We invite these learning outcomes:
  • We will uncover colonial patterns and entitlements rooted in fear and scarcity.
  • We learn to become more comfortable with uncertainty and discomfort.
  • We question the sources of authority shaping our choices and beliefs
  • We compost our shit together and allow grief for harm caused.
  • We learn what Decentre, Disarm, Dethrone, and Disinvest are.
  • We envision the kind of ancestor we aspire to become.

Who is it for?
  • For those who dare to dream a world where we are learning to dismantle colonial frames
  • For changemakers and bridge-builders weaving justice and beyond-justice into the fabric of life
  • For educators and architects of communities
  • For those wanting to go deep into inner and outer de-colonial process

Who are we?

Hi, I am Nontokozo  Sabic -an advocate for climate and social justice, community living and North–South healing and reconciliation, utilising the principles of Ubuntu embodied into my cells from my ancestors.
JOURNEY THROUGH (What We May Invite):
Mapping Our Predicament:  We explore the deep impacts of colonization—on our bodies, minds, families, communities, and worldviews. Through intersectional lenses and indigenous frameworks, we uncover patterns of fear, scarcity, and unworthiness, examining how they shape our existence and relationship to the world.
Inviting Maplessness: Together, we explore the courage it takes to have no map and become more comfortable with uncertainty and discomfort. We question who holds authority on our choices and desires.
Grieving the Harm We Have Caused: We confront the harm we've caused through collective grieving, finding transformation, accountability, and deeper belonging as we navigate beyond guilt.
Composting Shit Together: Through "Decentre, Disarm, Dethrone, and Disinvest" (DDDD), we challenge entrenched systems of colonialism and capitalism. By welcoming resistance and dismantling, we explore how these processes lead to liberation and collective freedom.

Re-rooting together: We reflect on the kind of ancestors we want to become.

COMPLIMENTARY COACHING SESSIONS -
To support your learning journey, we're pleased to offer each participant two free 1-hour coaching sessions focused on the processes explored during our workshop. These personalised sessions provide an opportunity to dive deeper into specific areas and address individual challenges. You may choose which facilitator you'd like to work with based on your preferences and support needs. To schedule your sessions, please email us and we'll coordinate a time that works for everyone.
A poem from one of our last participants - "I include my poem below, as well as the phrase that I shared at the end (with its translation). Thank you both so much for the last 7 weeks - it has been absolutely incredible and so deeply nourishing, I don't have the words to describe how wonderful this course was and will continue to be for me." sonali razdan
Thank You
Your honesty opened my heart Your reflections stirred
my soul I came in looking to explore my roots,
find grounding I leave having my body, mind,
and soul stretched by your compassion
Expanded to a new, yet familiar awareness

That in YOU, I have found ME A fuller,
richer me than I could have ever imagined
Lit by your love, watered by your pain

This is not goodbye, it can’t be I have been forever changed
by you In greeting myself in the coming days,
I greet and bless the parts of me that you have molded
With your fierce strength to confront, to comfort, to co-regulate

Thank you

For I will never be the same again
For I will hold and cherish the precious moments we shared for eternity
For I will burn with you in anger at the colonial systems
we continue to uphold
For I will soak with you in grief at the people and privileges we leave behind

In the disruption of the old
In the construction of the new

Continuously evolving
Right here, right now Together

Thank you
