DR Malika Virah-Sawmy - consultantAs a child, I dreamed of communicating with animals and trees. I worked for years as a park ranger in Mauritius, Seychelles, New Zealand, and Madagascar. After completing a PhD at Oxford on human-nature conflict, I worked globally as a sustainability practitioner, focusing on agriculture, climate adaptation, and resource management. Realizing that existing ways of thinking perpetuate control and separation, I founded Sensemakers Collective to serve life through deep listening to nature. Now, I serve as a facilitator, activist, storyteller, and community weaver, dedicated to nature connection, social justice, community living, and healing, using somatic and ancestral wisdom practices to nurture transformation.
